Council will consult with local schools about possible changes to school zone times.
School speed zone times are currently set across the Council area at two hours in the morning (7am-9am) and two hours in the afternoon (2pm-4pm).
Council is reviewing these times, with three proposed reductions:
- 1.5 hour morning and afternoon, or
- 1 hour morning and afternoon, or
- 1.5 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon.
Subject to the outcomes of the consultation, Council will then commence discussions with the Department of Transport and Main Roads with a view to making any changes to the school speed zones for the start the 2020 school year.
