Revitalising Local Hospitality Venues

Nic Street,Minister for Hospitality and Events

A new $750,000 Revitalising Local Hospitality Venues Grant Program will open on 1 September 2022, as part of the Tasmanian Liberal Government's plan to strengthen Tasmania's future.

The Program will grant $5,000 to eligible hospitality businesses to support them to deliver projects or purchase equipment that will build capacity, assist with COVID-19 recovery, or assist to improve productivity.

This new grant program will inject much needed funds into the sector and allow business owners to hasten their plans to introduce new initiatives and innovate as they continue to recover from the pandemic.

The hospitality sector is the backbone of both our tourism industry and our local way of life, and the Tasmanian Liberal Government has always been a strong supporter of this vital sector and worked side by side through the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am proud of this industry and our partnerships with the Tasmanian Hospitality Association, as its support in developing this grant program has been vital to ensure it is done in the most effective way.

The hospitality sector contributed more than $720 million to the Tasmanian economy last year, and we are confident that this will continue to grow.

The Revitalising Hospitality Venues Grant Program is the latest support package this Government is providing to ensure the industry continues to recover and returns to the incredibly strong position it had pre-COVID-19.

Information will be available through Business Tasmania in the coming weeks.
