A man has died following a crash at Windale in Lake Macquarie this morning.
About 9.35am (Wednesday 17 December 2025), emergency services were called to the intersection of South Street and Merrigum Street following reports of a crash.
At the scene, officers were told a motorbike collided with a four-wheel-drive, causing the rider to fall from the bike.
The rider – a 33-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died on the way to hospital.
The driver of the 4WD – a 53-year-old man – was not injured. He was taken to Belmont Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are underway.
