Rider Dies After Three-vehicle Crash - Hunter Valley

A motorcycle rider has died after a crash in the State's Hunter Valley region yesterday.

About 6.25pm (Friday 24 April 2026), emergency services were called to the intersection of Cessnock Road and Kemp Street, Neath, east of Cessnock, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

At the scene, police were told three vehicles - a red Nissan Utility, a silver Ford Utility, and a Triumph motorcycle had collided.

The female rider of the motorcycle – a 50-year-old woman - was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for serious leg injuries before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

The 21-year-old and 57-year-old male drivers of both vehicles were uninjured and were taken to Cessnock Hospital for mandatory testing.

About 3.00pm today (Saturday 25 April 2026) police received notification that the 50-year-old woman has passed away in hospital.

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner regarding the woman's death.
