Rider injured after Numinbah Valley crash

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a crash in which a motorcycle rider sustained critical injuries at Numinbah Valley this afternoon (January 14).

Preliminary information indicates a head on collision occurred between a northbound motorcycle and a southbound 4WD on Nerang Murwillumbah Road, near the intersection with Chesters Road at around 4.30pm.

The rider, a 22-year-old man from Varsity Lakes was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with critical head, chest and leg injuries.

The driver of the 4WD, a 48-year-old woman and her 49-year-old male passenger, both from Numinbah Valley were not physically injured.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, has relevant dashcam vision, or who may have seen either the motorcycle (2005 red Suzuki) or the 4WD (white 2017 Mitsubishi ASX) travelling along the road prior to the crash, to contact them (details below).
