River Street Duplication Opening of Inbound Lanes: Ballina Shire

River Street Duplication Opening of Inbound Lanes

Ballina Shire Council is pleased to advise that the dual inbound lanes on the River Street Duplication project will open this week.

The following traffic changes will come into effect from Saturday 4 September 2021:

  • Dual inbound lanes will be opened from Riverbend Village through to Barlows Road Roundabout
  • Bus stop will be reinstated to Cedars Caravan Park
  • Right turn lane at Ronan Place will be permanently closed. Ronan Place will become left in/left out only.

The removal of the right hand turn from River Street into Ronan Place is a necessary safety measure to prevent vehicles crossing two lanes of traffic. Vehicles will be required to detour via the Quays Drive (Bunnings) or Barlows Road roundabout.

Landscaping of the median and approaches will commence in October and continue into early 2022. Temporary lane/road closures and associated detours will be required when landscaping is underway.

Ballina Shire Council thanks the community for their continued patience during this important upgrade.
