Riverland man arrested for drug and weapon offences , SA

Police have arrested a man for drug and weapon offences after a search of his home today, according to SA Police.

Just after 2pm (Friday 6 January) officers from Drug and Organised Crime Task Force and Berri CIB, attended a home near Barmera with a drug warrant to search the premises.

Police will allege they located six cannabis plants being grown hydroponically, 11 kilograms of dried cannabis and two insecure firearms.

A 56-year-old Riverland man was arrested for possessing a commercial quantity of cannabis, cultivating cannabis, possessing prescribed equipment, possessing insecure firearms and possessing unregistered firearms.

He was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on 24 April 2017.
