Given the increased intensity and frequency of recent flooding and severe storm events in our region, our Shire's road network has become more vulnerable to the impacts of these type of events, and there has been a significant increase in local road network defects.
Consequently, Council's Assets Team personnel are continually re-assessing road conditions during this severe weather event and are prioritising road maintenance and repair activities to ensure essential access is maintained where possible.
Ultimately, that means Council's Operations Branch personnel will continue to rank and schedule these activities based on a variety of factors including road user safety, traffic speed, traffic volumes and type and road serviceability.
