Road rage assault in Bacchus Marsh

Police are investigating a road rage incident in Bacchus Marsh this month that left a man with bruising and lacerations.

Investigators have been told a white ute pulled up alongside a blue Kenworth truck on the Western Freeway on 18 December between 9.30-10pm.

The passenger in the ute began throwing stubbies at the truck.

The driver of the truck tried to overtake the ute but it started swerving in front of the truck causing the driver to stop.

The driver and passenger both got out of the ute, opened the driver's side door of the truck and punched the driver multiple times, trying to pull him out of the truck.

They then stole two bags of clothing out of the truck's toolbox before smashing the headlights of the truck with a metal bar.

A passing motorist stopped to assist causing the offending males to drive off west on the Western Freeway.

The men are perceived to be Caucasian and aged between 25-30-years-old.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the incident or further information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
