Road rage, man charged in Mascot

A man has been charged after a motorist was allegedly stabbed in Sydney’s east yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 5.35pm today, there was a confrontation between the driver of a white Volkswagen Golf and the driver of a silver Mazda on King Street, Mascot.

After pulling over, the driver of the Mazda confronted the driver of the Volkswagen before allegedly producing a knife.

During a struggle, the driver of the Volkswagen, a 24-year-old man, suffered wounds to his right thigh and hand.

The driver of the Mazda returned to his vehicle and drove off.

Officers from Botany Bay Local Area Command attended and launched an investigation.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

About 7pm today, the driver of the Mazda, a 58-year-old man attended Mascot Police Station and spoke with officers.

He was arrested and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
