Road reconstruction works set for Dead Horse Lane

Dead Horse Lane in Swan Hill will get a major makeover with work to reconstruct and seal the road commencing next week.

Funded through the Victorian Government's Fixing Country Roads Program the upgrades include widening the road to 6.2 metres and sealing a 2.3km stretch of road.

Council's Director Infrastructure Svetla Petkova said Dead Horse Lane had been identified for works as traffic use on the existing unsealed road is frequent.

Ms Petkova said the works to be completed by Council and are expected to take around ten weeks to complete.

"Due to the road reconstruction works Dead Horse Lane will be closed to traffic from Monday, 24 February to approximately Friday, 1 May from the intersection of Sea Lake - Swan Hill Road through to Yana Street," Ms Petkova said.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and urges motorists to exercise caution when driving in the area.

Ms Petkova said Councils road works program is currently in full swing.

"We have just completed widening and sealing works on the Annuello - Wemen Road and we expect to complete the reconstruction of Station Street at Lake Boga between Lalbert Road and Marraboor Street very soon," she said.
