Our roads are peppered with potholes, exacerbated by months of wet weather, which have not only damaged the roads, but slowed down the capacity of road crews to repair that damage.
In addition, this most recent flood event has created a fresh set of problems for our road crews, with several bridge washouts, at least 12 road slips identified so far, and extensive damage to sealed roads, adding to the existing catalogue of scheduled road repairs.
Road teams have been working to repair major damages, such as Majors Bridge at Moparrabah Road, which is now open, and Ryans Cut, with work continuing over the weekend and into this week.
Crews have also been out in force across the shire capturing damage to roads, bridges and stormwater infrastructure, data which will help inform work schedules, grant applications, and funding allocations.
