Road Resealing Program Rolls Out Over Autumn

Wagga Wagga City Council advises motorists and the wider community that works will be carried out on several key distributor and suburban roads across the Local Government Area as part of a resealing program over autumn.

The works are scheduled to commence from Monday 13 April and wrap up in early May 2026, weather permitting.

Council's Manager of Civil Operations Guy Oosterhoff said sections of 17 different roads will be resealed during the program, enhancing the local road network at its completion.

"To minimise disruption, works within school zones on Bardia Street and Red Hill Road are being undertaken during the school holiday period," Mr Oosterhoff said.

"Once those works are complete, the crews will be moving to other locations across the city and the surrounding area, including sections of the key rural arterial roads, Millwood Road Mundowy Lane.

"The works will involve preparation of the existing road surface, localised remediation of pavement defects, and application of a new bituminous seal.

"The remediation and new seal will improve the safety and quality of ride in these sections."

Road users are advised to expect short-term traffic delays and minor disruptions during the works and reduced speed limits will be in force in the works zones.

The works are scheduled to take place between 6am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. On occasion, due to unexpected circumstances, works may occur outside of these hours.

Where possible, nearby residents will be notified in advance.

"We ask motorists and residents to follow all signage and directions from traffic controllers to ensure the safety of workers and the public," Mr Oosterhoff said.

"We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation while these essential works are carried out."
