Roadworks start on Paluma Dam Rd

Townsville City Council is starting work on Paluma Dam Rd to grade and re-gravel the road, making travelling on the road more comfortable for drivers.

The works are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

Infrastructure Services Committee chairperson Mark Molachino said the works kicked off late last week.

"Crews are getting started on the grading and re-gravelling of Paluma Dam Rd, which will make it easier to travel along the road and help reduce the amount of maintenance needed there," Cr Molachino said.

"BMD Constructions has been awarded the contract for the road repairs, and they will have 21 employees completing the work."

The works at Paluma Dam Rd are scheduled to run for about six weeks.
