Robberies with violence in South Brisbane, QLD

Police have charged seven juveniles following two violent robberies in South Brisbane early this morning, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that shortly after 2am, a group of youths approached a 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man on Manning Street and made demands for money.

It is further alleged the group assaulted the pair, striking the man several times with a fence paling and repeatedly punching the woman before stealing money and fleeing.

Around 2.15am, it is alleged the group approached a 38-year-old man on Grey Street, punched him several times before attempting to steal his bag.

The youths fled on foot and were arrested by police a short time later in Kurilpa Park.

The 22-year-old woman, 20-year-old man, and 38-year-old man sustained bruising and were treated at the scene.

A 12-year-old Petrie girl, a 12-year-old Caboolture South boy, a 13-year-old Kingston boy, a 14-year-old Acacia Ridge girl, a 14-year-old Beenleigh boy, a 14-year-old Wynnum West girl, and a 15-year-old Mount Gravatt East girl have all been charged with two counts each or armed robbery and one count each of attempted armed robbery.
