Robbery and assault at Mackay

Detectives have released vision after a business was broken into and a man assaulted in Mount Pleasant early Sunday morning.

Around 4.40am, a man tried to force entry to some businesses in a complex on Willetts Road. He then smashed a glass door panel of one of the businesses. A staff member who was at the business approached the man who then hit the staff member in face and ran out of the business.

The man fled on a silver mountain bike fitted with what is believed to be a small petrol engine. He is described as approximately 175cm tall, Caucasian and wearing a white cap, black hoodie and black backpack.

Anyone who recognises the man or has further information is urged to contact police.
