Robbery charge at West End, QLD

Police have charged a man after an assault and robbery incident at West End yesterday, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary investigations indicate about 10.30am at Boundary Street, two men were involved in a heated argument when a third man as approached and attempted to intervene.

It is alleged one of the men who was arguing punched the man who was attempting to provide assistance, knocking him unconscious.

It is further alleged the two men then took the man’s wallet and watch prior to leaving the scene.

The injured man was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police located and arrested a man a short distance away.

A 28-year-old South Brisbane man has been charged with one count of robbery in company and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
