Robbery with violence at Kallangur, QLD

Police are investigating after a man was bound and seriously assaulted in his home at Kallangur yesterday, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary information suggests that two women knocked on the front door of the Duffield Road residence around 10.20am while the 64-year-old victim was at home.

While he was speaking with the women another two men forced their way inside at the back of the house.

One of the men tied the man to a chair with masking tape and rubbed glue on his eyes. The man was then struck on the head with a spanner.

The men and women then stole a number of items from the house before fleeing in the man’s vehicle. The vehicle was later located abandoned in Sylvan Court Kallangur.

The man was transported to Redcliffe Hospital in a stable condition.

Investigations are continuing.
