Robbery with Violence in Annerley, QLD

Police have charged two men and a woman after the alleged assault and robbery of a taxi driver in Annerley overnight, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that the trio entered the taxi on Ekibin Road and instructed the driver to travel to Waldheim Street where one of the men stole the driver’s money box before fleeing.

The driver exited the vehicle before confronting the men, demanding the money box be returned.

It will be alleged that the men walked back to the driver and punched him multiple times to the head and body.

The trio then fled the area.

Dog Squad officers tracked the trio to a nearby residence where they were arrested.

Two men, aged 22 and 24-years old and a 21-year-old woman have been charged with robbery in company.

They are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today (February 17).

The driver of the taxi, a 40-year-old Underwood man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
