Robbery with violence in North Lakes, QLD

Police are investigating a robbery with violence that occurred in North Lakes late last night., Queensland Police say

Initial investigations indicate that around 10pm, a 19-year-old man and 13-year-old boy were walking along Finnegan Drive when they were approached by a group of approximately eight people.

One of the males from the group asked the pair for money. When they advised that they did not have any money, he assaulted them before demanding they hand over their mobile phones.

The pair complied, handing over their phones and a satchel containing a wallet before walking to a nearby licensed premises to seek assistance.

The 19-year-old man sustained a suspected fractured jaw and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.

The 13-year-old boy did not require medical treatment.

Investigations are continuing.
