Robbery with violence in Woree, QLD

Police are investigating after a man was assaulted and his car stolen in Woree early this morning, Queensland Police say.

Initial investigations indicate at around 3:45am a man was walking to his car on the Bruce Highway, near Rigg Street, when he was approached by a group of teenagers who then assaulted him.

The group then stole personal items from the man before stealing his car and fleeing the scene.

A 36-year-old Woree man was transported to Cairns Base Hospital for treatment of facial injuries.

The vehicle (similar to pictured) is described as a black 2000 Holden Crewman with Queensland registration 928-ITD.
