Robbery with violence, North Lakes

A female tavern employee was assaulted, a girl standing at a bus stop hit in the face and two other businesses broken into in what police believe are linked incidents that occurred on Brisbane’s northside last night, Queensland Police say.

Around 8.20pm two males entered a North Lakes tavern with one of them jumping behind the bar area and kicking a female employee whilst demanding money.

When they were unsuccessful at opening the cash register the pair stole jewellery and a mobile phone from the woman.

The 22-year-old woman sustained bruising from the force of the kick.

The pair ran out of the tavern through the bistro area with one of them grabbing and stealing a handbag belonging to a female diner.

The males ran outside and past a bus stop where two 16-year-old girls were waiting. One of the males struck one of the girl’s in the face before stealing her mobile phone. The girl was not seriously injured.

Between 9 and 9.15pm two businesses were broken into.

A supermarket located in Goodfellows Road at Murrumba Downs had a glass door smashed as offenders gained entry and rummaged through empty cash register draws before fleeing.

A pizza outlet located on Old Gympie Road, Kallangur had a glass panelled door smashed with offenders stealing food and drink.

A stolen red 1998 Honda CR-V with Queensland registration plates 824WHJ is believed to have been seen at all three locations. It is also believed that this vehicle was being driven by a third person.

One of the two males from the tavern robbery is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, approximately 180cms tall with a solid build.

The second male is described as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander with a proportionate build and very short black hair.

Police have released images of two males who may be able to assist them with their investigations.
