Robbery with violence, Waterford West

Detectives are appealing for public assistance following the robbery of a 78-year-old woman at Waterford West this morning.

Around 8.45am the woman was waiting in her driveway on Bourke Street, when a man came out of a vehicle parked nearby, approached and grabbed her handbag.

The woman was pushed to the ground and as a result was transported to the hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed the man left in a silver Toyota hatchback containing several people.

The property inside the handbag included a mobile phone, house-keys, prescription glasses and a small sum of money.

Detectives spoke with several witnesses and are appealing for anyone with any information to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
