Robbery With Violence, Wynnum West

Police have charged a man after he allegedly stole a bicycle at Wynnum West on 10 June.

It will be alleged around 8:15am, a 40-year-old Lota man stole the bicycle from a train station platform.

The owner of the bicycle attempted to retrieve it when a physical altercation broke out between the owner and the 40-year-old man.

The man then fled the scene on foot, and the victim sought treatment for non life-threatening injuries.

On 17 June police attended a Lota address, where the man was observed on an alleged stolen scooter.

He fled before being arrested in a dwelling a short time later.

A stolen Suzuki scooter was then found at the address, with an altered number plate.

The man has been charged with one count of robbery and one count each of unlawful possession of a motor vehicle.
