Rockliff Too Weak to Drop Sladden, Unlike Gutwein

Tas Labor

When former Liberal candidate Dean Ewington spoke out about Covid restrictions and attended an anti-lockdown rally, then Premier Peter Gutwein was quick to show him the door.

Fast-forward four years later, and faced with a far more controversial candidate, Jeremy Rockliff is far too weak to act.

Rockliff's response to revelations that Julie Sladden is anti-vax, anti-trans, anti-Tasmanian and anti-Liberal? - basically that there's nothing to see here.

When Rockliff became Premier in 2022, it was reported that he wouldn't "dilute his progressive views to pacify conservatives".

That position has clearly evaporated, raising serious questions about what kind of principles Rockliff will abandon next.
