Roleystone Karragullen Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Gets Funding

Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

The Australian Government and the City of Armadale have recently signed an Agreement to secure federal funding to support the construction of the Roleystone Karragullen Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Station.

The funding Agreement paves the way for the delivery of the Australian Government's $2 million election commitment, being made under the Investing in Our Communities Program.

Both governments acknowledge the tremendous efforts and sacrifices made by the Roleystone Karragullen Brigade fire-fighting volunteers, and this project aims to support their members, while improving their operational effectiveness.

Due for completion in October 2023, the station will boast solar panels and battery storage, a 247kL potable water tank, a 129kL dedicated firefighting water tank, two-vehicle wash down bays, and an Aerobic Treatment Unit.

The new station is being delivered through a tilt-up panel construction and can hold a number of large and small firefighting units. It will also include a training room, locker rooms, shower facilities, decontamination area and office spaces, along with construction of a road extension to Springdale Road for access.

A special communications office will assist during large scale emergency events.
