A revamped nesting ground for the Lake Macquarie City Roosters has been unveiled following a $2.7 million renovation at their Speers Point home.

Lake Macquarie City Football Club (LMCFC) is now home to seating for 200 people, two sports changerooms, upgraded lighting, referee amenities, public restrooms, an accessible bathroom, a canteen and storage areas as well as accessible parking spaces and connecting pathways.

Lake Macquarie City Council replaced the end-of-life grandstand and associated facilities - constructed in 1972 - to better serve the passionate club and community into the future.

The club also led groundworks to improve the playing surface and drainage and installed new pathways and dugouts around the field with a Council grant and planning support.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Adam Shultz said Council was committed to supporting local grassroots sport through infrastructure projects like this.

"These new facilities are a major win for our community and for one of Lake Macquarie's most passionate sporting clubs," he said.

"This upgrade ensures players, supporters and officials have a modern, accessible and welcoming space to enjoy for decades to come.

"Grassroots sport is the heartbeat of our city, and projects like this reflect Council's commitment to creating quality places where people can connect, compete and feel proud of their home club."

LMCFC fields sides in both men's and women's National Premier Leagues competitions, training and playing out of the lakeside complex.

Club president Steve Graham said the upgrades offered important accessibility features for all ages, genders and abilities.

"This redevelopment represents a new chapter for Lake Macquarie City FC," he said.

"The improved facilities enhance accessibility, player welfare and matchday experience, ensuring our club continues to grow and thrive for generations to come."

The club will host its official season launch tomorrow evening, Saturday 21 February, with about 700 members set to attend the grand opening event.
