Rose Garden Festival Morwell Set for 2026 Return

A highlight of Latrobe City Council's tourism calendar, the International Rose Garden Festival Morwell will return on 6 and 7 November 2026, bringing back all the much-loved festival favourites.

Now in its ninth year, the free community event continues to grow, thanks to support from major sponsor AGL Loy Yang, participating for the eighth consecutive year, and the Victorian Government.

Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Sharon Gibson reminded the community to save the date.

"The International Rose Garden Festival is an important event on our calendar and continues to place Latrobe City firmly on the tourist map," Cr Gibson said.

"We are delighted to receive funding from the Victorian Government through the Regional Events Fund recognising the important role events like this play in attracting visitors and boosting tourism in our region.

"This funding will help deliver exciting feature attractions, including the aerial acrobat performance 'Bloom', along with crowd favourites Costa the Gnome, 'dirtgirl' and 'scrapboy'. It's a welcomed investment in our community and will help create a very memorable experience for everyone who attends."

A key highlight will again be the AGL Loy Yang Night Lights installation, transforming the gardens from 6.30pm to 9.30pm both nights, with illuminated displays, roving performances and pop-up attractions.

"We are deeply grateful to AGL Loy Yang for its continued commitment to supporting the festival," Cr Gibson said.

"AGL's ongoing support helps us enhance the festival experience and ensures it remains a highlight for our community and visitors."

AGL Loy Yang General Manager Christo van Niekerk said AGL Loy Yang was pleased to once again support the International Rose Garden Festival Morwell in 2026.

"This much-loved event continues to connect communities across the region, supporting tourism, strengthening local pride and contributing to the Gippsland economy," Mr van Niekerk said.

"We're delighted to see the return of the AGL Night Lights Installation. It remains a standout feature for visitors and showcases how creativity and innovation can transform shared spaces into something truly special.

"We commend the Friends of the Rose Garden, Latrobe City Council and the many volunteers whose ongoing commitment brings this event to life. Their efforts help ensure Morwell remains home to one of Australia's most beautiful rose gardens."
