Police are investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Main Road Rosetta earlier tonight.
A 13 year old boy from Rosetta was reportedly crossing the road near the Brooker Highway entrance when he was struck by a silver Honda Civic being driven by a 65 year old woman.
As a result of the crash the youth received significant facial and head injuries and is being assessed and treated at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Police are investigating, but early indications are that speed and drugs/alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any dash cam footage of the incident should contact police on 131444.
