Ballina Shire Council advises the community that Ross Lane will be closed from 19 October until 18 December 2026 to allow construction of a new bridge over Deadmans Creek as part of the Ross Lane Flood Resilience Project.
The closure is necessary to safely complete critical bridge works and is expected to remain in place for approximately nine weeks, subject to weather and site conditions.
Prior to the full closure, motorists can expect temporary single-lane traffic arrangements from 12 October 2026. Road users are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow signed detour routes during the closure period.
