Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in Rome on bilateral cooperation, as well as global and regional security challenges. Secretary Rubio discussed efforts to promote freedom of navigation and maritime security in key international waterways. They addressed the importance of resolving the war in Ukraine. The Secretary emphasized the need for Western nations to protect their economic interests.
