A Pasadena man is on cloud nine after securing a $620,000 division one win in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw, setting the stage for an upgraded holiday and a leap into early retirement.
The South Australian winner was among nine lucky Australians to hit division one in the Saturday X Lotto draw on January 3, 2024, each claiming a share of $628,335.19. However, his winning ticket was unregistered, leaving Lotto officials in suspense until he came forward to claim his prize.
Upon realizing his win, the man experienced a whirlwind of emotions, starting with panic over the possibility of losing the precious ticket.
Before allowing his excitement to take over, the winning man confessed he initially experienced a moment of panic at the thought of losing his entry before he could claim it.
“As soon as I realised we had won, I went straight to the head office,” he said.
“I didn’t want to hang onto the ticket for any longer than I needed to! I was too afraid I’d lose it.
“We’re staying calm, cool, and collected. You know, we don’t want to lash out and do anything crazy.
“We’ll talk to a financial advisor and use the prize wisely.
“We’re semi-retired you see. This is going to help with that.
“We are going on a cruise soon too - I wouldn’t mind upgrading to VIP!
“Thank you again. We feel over the moon!”
His winning entry was purchased from Pasadena LPO, Shop 6, Pasadena Shopping Centre, 16-30 Fiveash Drive, Pasadena.
The Pasadena LPO team said they were thrilled for their winner and wished him all the best with his prize.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4439 on 3 February 2024 were 23, 11, 29, 3, 19, 22, while the supplementary numbers were 30 and 20. Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4439 – three in Victoria, two each in New South Wales and South Australia, and one each in Queensland and Western Australia.
