SA Police launches new recruitment campaign

Today, the SA Police (SAPOL) launch a new recruitment campaign to encourage people to join SAPOL as a police officer. "Calling All' is the new catch phrase for the recruiting campaign aimed at attracting people from all walks of life to consider SAPOL as their employer of choice.

This new recruiting campaign is seeking people who are role models in the community; who are confident problem solvers; and who can help build a new and contemporary foundation for change across SAPOL. The campaign will run between April and June 2022 - with the concepts reflecting the many different career opportunities available when joining SAPOL as a police officer. It is bold and different - appealing to people from a broad and diverse range of interests including fitness fans, true crime buffs, social influencers, community ambassadors, adventurers and simply people who just want to take their work life to new and exciting heights.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Linda Williams has stated the campaign will encourage people considering a work life change to look at joining SAPOL as a police officer.

"There is no better time than now to consider a career with SAPOL as a police officer. 'Calling All' is a bold and different recruiting campaign to attract the attention of people from the vastly diverse backgrounds in our community seeking a new and challenging career. As a police officer in SAPOL you will have the opportunity to experience so many different policing roles all playing a part in maintaining safer communities across our state. Your contribution as a police officer will help continue to build on the strong foundations that have seen us remain contemporary and highly regarded. These are exciting times as SAPOL develops new initiatives across our people, operations and technology portfolios. We will ensure those who join SAPOL are prepared for future policing challenges and will be clearly representative of our diverse community," said Deputy Commissioner Williams.

The campaign will seek to recruit people from across the state including in our regional areas. It will include bright and informative advertising billboards; bus shelter posters; wrap around advertisements on buses and trams; and other outdoor placements. There will be prominent media across regional radio; print media articles; and the proactive use of various state-wide digital and social media platforms. The campaign will also reach into the interstate market.

For the first time, SAPOL will also utilise popular podcasts as a marketing platform to promote policing as a career to these growing audience numbers in this environment.

The recruitment process is outlined on SAPOL's recruiting website and we encourage any prospective applicants to go to the website to seek out further information. In the coming weeks, SAPOL will be launching a new online application process making it easier for applicants to take the first step towards their police career.
