Safework Inspectors Prioritize Safety at Easter Show

SafeWork NSW

SafeWork NSW Inspectors and Engineers are inspecting and monitoring the Sydney Royal Easter Show to ensure the safety of workers and the almost 900,000 people set to attend the Show in the coming weeks.

SafeWork Inspectors have been on site since 4 March, providing advice and undertaking compliance activities on amusements, safe forklift operation, traffic management, working at heights and electrical safety as well as inspecting gas storage at food stalls.

'Reasonably practicable' control measures must be implemented for carnival rides, to manage the risks associated with operating amusement devices. Current registration, maintenance, and training records must also be readily available.

SafeWork Inspectors will be continuing on-site inspections throughout the entirety of the 2024 Sydney Royal Easter Show and will also be involved in the show's shut down, ensuring safe work methods are always being used.
