Sam Kerr has been awarded the Football Writers' Association Women's Footballer of the Year award for the second consecutive season, becoming the first back-to-back winner of the award.
The Australian was honoured alongside Manchester City's Erling Haaland, who was named the Men's Footballer of the Year for the first time.
Kerr picks up the award for the second consecutive season, with the striker beating out Rachel Daly of Aston Villa and Chelsea teammate Lauren James to the award.
The Australian scored her 27th goal in all competitions for the 2022/23 season, finding the back of the net in a big win against Everton that could help Chelsea claim the WSL title.
Kerr becomes the first back-to-back winner of the award after claiming last year's trophy, with previous winners of the award including Kerr's Chelsea teammate Fran Kirby, Nikita Parris and Vivianne Miedema.
The winner is selected by a vote amongst the members of the Football Writers' Association, with around 400 football journalists based throughout England casting their votes.
The presentation dinner for the annual Football Writers' Association awards will take place on Thursday 25 May in London.
