Samsung Solis Tizen Smartwatch is Gear S3

- Just when you thought all the leaks and fresh announcements were dominated by Apple, the internet has provided us with an interesting sneak peek at Samsung's Gear S3, Digital Spy said.

In the lead-up to its expected unveil at Galaxy Unpacked on August 2, the smartwatch's codename has been outed along with model numbers and OS details.

According to sources at SamMobile, the next Samsung watch is being developed under the codename Solis - meaning Sun in Spanish. Since the last Gear S2 used the codename Orbis - meaning circular - this would appear to be its successor, Digital Spy said.

The source says that the new Solis watch will run the Tizen operating system, instead of Android. This will come with an updated interface that will likely take advantage of the same rotating bezel system its predecessor offers.

No other specs have been revealed aside from the model numbers: SM-R760, SM-R765, SM-R770, SM-R765V and SM-R765S - although it's suggested that the 1.2-inch display of the Gear S2 may get a size upgrade to help make touch interactions a little more easy.

More on the smartwatch will likely leak before the Unpacked event in August, when the Galaxy Note 7 is also expected to appear, Digital Spy said.
