San Remo's New Playspace and Fitness Area Plans Unveiled

In July, Bass Coast Shire Council asked for your ideas for a brand new playspace for Anderson Street Reserve in San Remo. The draft designs have arrived, and we want to hear what you think!

During our consultation we heard from our community that they wanted a natural feeling playspace that combines native colours and timber features with steel structural components. Accessible features, climbing trails as well everybody's favourite traditional items including a swing and slide was also popular feedback.

We also heard that our community would like a fitness area that caters to all ages so there are also draft designs for a fitness area which includes strengthening exercises like a leg and chest press that can cater to seniors as well as chin up bars for the more fitness focussed.

You can view the designs and fill out our survey online at engage.basscoast.vic.gov.au/playspaces.

We're also holding a drop-in session at the Reserve on Wednesday, 24 January from 11.00am to 12.00pm where you can come along, view the designs and have a chat with our officers about them.
