Detectives from Hobart CIB are investigating a series of crimes that occurred in the lower Sandy Bay area between 4am and 6am this morning, Tuesday 30th May, Tasmania Police say.
It appears that offenders attempted to steal three motor vehicles before setting them alight. One of the vehicle fires caused damage to the adjacent residence.
Two men are presently in custody and assisting police with their enquiries.
Police are seeking the assistance from anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously in the area south of the Wrest Point Casino around this time.
