Applications are open for the 2027 Agriculture Student Scholarship, funded by the Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan. Four scholarships are available, including a top prize of $6,000 and three runner-up scholarships valued at $3,000 each.

This year's theme, solutions to challenges in agriculture, invites students to share innovative ways to address the issues facing the agriculture industry today. Applicants can explore topics ranging from technological innovation and collaboration to public engagement and education.

Applicants are required to submit a three-minute video or 1,000-word essay. Grade 12 students or recent high school or Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) graduates within the past two school years (that is, graduate of 2025, 2026 or 2027) living in Saskatchewan who plan to take agriculture-related post-secondary education beginning in the fall of 2027 are eligible to submit their applications.

This award is funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a five-year (April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2028), $3.5-billion investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to strengthen the competitiveness, innovation and resiliency of Canada's agriculture, agri-food and agri-based products sector. This includes $1 billion in federal programs and activities and a $2.5-billion commitment that is cost-shared 60% federally and 40% provincially/territorially for programs that are designed and delivered by provinces and territories.
