Sawn-Off Rifle, Drugs Seized in Summer Hill Arrest

A disqualified driver is in custody and a sawn-off rifle and a balaclava have been seized at Summer Hill this morning.

Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command were called to Bogan Street about 10am (Wednesday 14 May 2025), after a member of the public called concerned about a man slumped in his car with the engine running for an hour.

When police approached the vehicle, a 34-year-old Summer Hill man was removed.

Police will allege drug paraphernalia was seen inside the vehicle, and a search was conducted, during which a sawn-off .22 rifle, ammunition, balaclava, gloves, and cannabis was found.

Checks revealed the man has been disqualified from driving until June 2027.

The man has been taken to Burwood Police Station as inquiries continue.
