Sean Bean’s political thriller "Drone" adds cast

- Myriad Pictures has cast Mary McCormack and Joel David Moore in the political thriller "Drone", opposite Sean Bean and Patrick Sanogui, Variety reports.

Jason Bourque is directing from a script he co-wrote with Paul A. Birkett. McCormack will play Bean’s wife in the film and Moore will play his colleague.

Myriad Pictures announced the project and launched sales on the film at the Cannes Film Festival, where Myriad closed a deals on several territories. "Drone" is currently in production in Vancouver, Canada, and just wrapped its second unit shoot in India.

Bean plays a private drone contractor who spends his workdays flying covert missions then returns to a family life of suburban mediocrity — without his wife or son knowing about his secret life — until a whistle-blowing site exposes him to a deadly threat. Believing he is responsible for the deaths of his wife and child, an enigmatic Pakistani businessman (Sabongui) tracks him down, leading to a harrowing confrontation.

The movie is being produced by Sefton Fincham ("Catch .44") and Ken Frith ("Black Fly"), and will be produced by Look to the Sky Films and co-produced by Gold Star Productions. The pic will be executive produced by Mike Rowe, Levi Sheck, Emily Alden, Kirk D’Amico and Media House Capital’s Ross Mrazek and Ben Rappaport.

Mary McCormack’s best known for the series "In Plain Sight" and "Right at Your Door." Moore starred in "Avatar" and "Dodgeball."
