Search and rescue in Watalgan, QLD

Gladstone Water Police have resumed a search this morning for an elderly woman missing in waters around Baffle Creek, Queensland Police say.

At 5.30am yesterday, a man and woman, both 90 years of age, went fishing in a small aluminium boat in Baffle Creek, 60 kilometres north of Bundaberg.

At 4.40pm, a fisherman located the body of a man in the creek, however the woman and boat were not found.

At about 7am this morning, a boat was located upturned in the creek with the search continuing for the missing woman.

Additional resources involved in the search include SES members, VMR and police officers from Rosedale and Bundaberg.

Police are appealing to boat users in the area to be on the lookout for the missing woman.
