Search and rescue: Missing boy at Mount Isa

Police are seeking public assistance to locate a missing 16-year-old boy from Mount Isa.

The boy (pictured below) was last seen this morning at 6am at an East Street address in Mount Isa.

Preliminary investigations have revealed the boy left the address driving a blue Yamaha motorcycle. The motorcycle was located at about 6.50am along the Barkley Highway, about 30 kilometres towards Cloncurry.

Police are concerned for the boy's welfare as his last known whereabouts was travelling on the located motorcycle. The boy has not been seen or heard from since.

The boy was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with the number three on the back and pink sleeves and black pants.

He is described as Aboriginal, about 168cm tall with black hair and brown eyes.

Police conducted a land search of the area today however did not locate the boy. Searches will recommence tomorrow morning.
