Search and rescue, Roaring Meg Falls

A search for a man injured after falling from Roaring Meg Falls at Creb Track Bloomfield will be coordinated by police this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 6.30pm yesterday, a woman who had been with the man, called Triple Zero to advise the 31-year-old slipped and fell approximately 30 metres into water.

The woman had to walk some distance to a ranger’s hut to call for help due to patchy communications in the area.

Police and other emergency services located the woman last night, however were unable to make their way to the man due to the lack of light and dangerous terrain

Overnight, police conducted a number of enquiries with crews to begin a search at first light this morning involving State Emergency Service volunteers and a helicopter.
