Police are concerned for the welfare of three people who are believed to be in the Scotts Road area near Lake Pedder.
Police have received information that a white Toyota Hilux registration E41AY may have been driven to the Scotts Road area near Lake Pedder on Sunday night/Monday morning.
Police and family hold concerns for the welfare of three people (one adult and two youths) who may have been in the vehicle.
"Police are seeking further information with a view to divert resources including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to search for these three people," Acting Inspector Phil Curtis said.

Meanwhile, dangerous weather conditions are continuing to hamper a police search for overdue walker Michael Bowman in the Cradle Mt/Lake St Clair National Park.
Three police search and rescue teams, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, a police marine vessel and a team of SES volunteers, are currently searching for the 57 year old Victorian man, who is an experienced bushwalker.
"Police also remind members of the public not to travel to the weather affected areas unless they are properly equipped. This includes people wishing to volunteer to search."
Anyone who may have seen Mr Bowman in the Cradle Mt/Lake St Clair National Park is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444.
In the north, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter will this morning be used to evacuate a father and daughter from Western Australia, who are currently near Pelion Hut.
The helicopter will also be used to check every hut on the Overland Track including Scott Kilvert Hut, which is where a school group is believed to be located.
"Anyone who is venturing into Tasmanian alpine conditions should be fully aware of forecast and unpredictability in weather conditions. They should be experienced bushwalkers and have the right equipment."
