Search for David Perry following St Kilda stabbing

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are searching for David Perry following a stabbing in St Kilda this morning, Victoria Police say.

A warrant has been issued for the 35-year-old’s arrest for the charge of attempted murder.

It is believed a man and woman returned home to their apartment on Wellington Street when they were confronted by a man with a knife about 4am.

The offender stabbed the male victim a number of times to the upper body before the victim ran from the premises.

The victim, a 32-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he remains with non-life threatening injuries.

A 25-year-old St Kilda woman was not injured.

Perry is described as Caucasian in appearance, 185cm tall with a tanned complexion, thin build and unshaven.

Investigators believe Perry received injuries to his abdomen during the assault and may seek medical attention.

An image of Perry has been released in the hope someone may know of his current whereabouts.

Police urge anyone that sees Perry to contact triple zero (000) or

anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
