Search for driver after crash at Elizabeth North , SA

Police are searching for the driver of a Holden sedan after it collided with a fence at Elizabeth North overnight, according to SA Police.

Just after 12.30am, an Elizabeth patrol spotted a man driving a Commodore sedan on Tilshead Road.

The patrol attempted to stop the car after the driver was recognised by the patrol officers, but the male refused, and the Commodore was followed through back streets, before eventually being lost.

A search for the car failed to find the vehicle, until a member of the public reported the same car had collided with a pole and fence at the intersection of Whiteparish Road and Old Sarum Road at Elizabeth North.

On patrols arrival the male driver had already fled the scene. A search of the area using a police dog also failed to locate the man.

Police have seized the vehicle which hasn't been reported stolen. Further enquires are continuing with the male who is known to police.

Anyone with information on the crash or the man driving the Commodore, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
