Search for male begins after Marrickville supermarket robbery, NSW

Police are appealing for information after an overnight armed robbery at a Marrickville supermarket, NSW Police say.

About 11pm yesterday (Friday 9 February 2018), a man entered the Illawarra Road supermarket and threatened a security guard and employee with a knife.

After demanding money, he left the store with a quantity of cash. The male was last seen on Warren Road. There were no reports of injury.

The male was described to [police as being of Caucasian appearance, thin build and about 170-175cm tall

When he was last seen the man was wearing a black, hooded long sleeved jumper with a large white motif on the front, blue jeans and black shoes with white trim and soles.

He kept his face and hands covered during the robbery.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
