Search for man following incident at Melbourne Central

Transit Safety Division Criminal Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man involved in an incident at Melbourne Central Railway Station earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a man sat down next a woman on Platform 1 about 7.12pm on Saturday, 28 January.

The man then behaved inappropriately, unbeknown to the victim.

A short time later, the man and woman both boarded a train bound for Hurstbridge.

The offender departed the train at North Richmond Railway Station about 7.25pm.

Police are investigating the incident and have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.

At the time of the incident he was wearing headphones, a blue Hello Kitty t-shirt, dark shorts and was carrying a large black suitcase.
