Police have commenced a search for a man reported missing from a camping ground 20km from Lockhart River yesterday, Queensland Police say.
The 69-year-old man left the camp site at about 11am but failed to return by 5pm.
Some of the man’s belongings were located in the area with an initial search being unsuccessful in locating him.
Local police along with the Rescue 510 helicopter are currently at the scene with additional searchers arriving at 5.30am to assist in looking for the man.
